Do not buy for the following reasons: 1- Notches or marks were made by hand. The gaps between the notch and the next notch are not compatible. A caliper is meant to be an accurate measuring tool, and the number one reason someone would look for a non-electronic caliper is so it doesn't need to be calibrated from time to time. This one is wrong. Also, the marks aren't even straight and perpendicular to the edge. See photo for details. 2- Too much sliding friction. The manufacturer tried to cheat and simply dipped it in a bucket of oil to lubricate it. it just made things messy and the friction is still there. 3- The end you use to measure depth is too brittle and bends very easily. 4- It rusts! really very fast.
