Jury still no best in engine cooling

Everything looks fine and all hoses fit with no leaks, same goes for the thick gasket supplied. FWIW two mounting screws require an Allen key. The key I have is marked 5.5. I suspect it's millimeters, but I'm not sure. Problem: Do you see an incorrect threaded "plug" in the picture? I thought it was for bling or something. Nobody tells you to tape the threads to this thing. Car started and coolant hisses out of this thing. You must remove and reinstall the part. Too bad they don't provide instructions on how to caulk the threads on this thing prior to installation. If you are a beginner, remember that there are no instructions at all. Update: The plumbing tape and plug don't leak. Warning: If you don't have a diagram of how your V-belt works. you better make one Removing the serpentine allowed much better access to the tstat body. If you have AC power, the AC power lines run through the top of the case, requiring the entire case to be removed to cover the plug. $#@!Because the part is so cheap, I find it impossible to buy it. It's a third the price of the original part and it comes with a serious gasket. Just remember to seal this locking screw before installation. By the way, use this gray RTV on all sealing surfaces. And just for fun and grins, I made the rough side of the padded case out of 800 grit paper.
