I originally bought this item in blue because I liked that color better. I bought it for use on our planes in the hope that it would be able to fully charge my iPad Pro 10.5 (with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Cellular) while I use the iPad as a backup for navigation, traffic and weather during of the flight. I LOVE the iPad's aviation capabilities, but on sunny days with the screen at full brightness, other chargers I've used couldn't keep it charged. This meant that on long flights I always worried about running out of battery and losing those amazing backup options. Well, the Jebsens charger was up to the task and never let my iPad Pro battery go below 95%. normally kept at 100%. While flying with another pilot friend, his iPad stayed fully charged at the same time as mine. FICTION! It also features a digital LED display that accurately shows the voltage of the aircraft's charging system, which is a real plus considering that the analog gauges work poorly on most older general aviation aircraft. I know it's accurate because I've compared it to two other very high quality voltmeters from different electrical test equipment manufacturers who always agree to within a hundredth of a volt and the Jebsens instrument never differed by more than 0.1 volt. two. It also displays the charging speed for each device it's connected to to quickly update you on the status. , making this display virtually unreadable in any daylight. I hoped this was just an accident and I just got a device with an unusually dim display. I contacted Jebsens about the problem and asked if what I'm experiencing is normal and if not, if I can replace it with another device. I also asked if a dim display was normal, if I could replace the blue display unit with a red/orange display unit in hopes that it would be brighter. They responded very quickly and basically told me that the blue display is weaker. , and that in any case they will send me a new block with a red-orange indicator for free and I can just keep the original block. What great customer service! When I received a replacement unit with a red/orange display, I found that it worked just as well as the blue display, but the display's intensity seemed about three times brighter than the blue unit. It's still a bit difficult to read in very bright sunlight, but it's more than acceptable. I was so pleased with the red/orange screen replacement that I just bought another one to give to a pilot buddy who used to use mine with me. I also use the original blue block in my Toyota 4Runner, which is my off-road trailer-towed vacation vehicle. With its heavily tinted windows, the blue display is at least usable. So if you use one of these chargers all day, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND getting the red/orange display. Whichever you choose, however, you get a GREAT performance from a GREAT, responsive seller at a GREAT price considering its features. especially good for charging high drain electronics in your airplane, boat, on-road or off-road vehicle.
