These are affordable snap ring pliers. If you are working on a car from home they are suitable for light use and cost less than half the price of name brand cars that a mechanic would normally use. They work reasonably well, although the flat, pointed end could be a bit sharper. They resemble pliers, but the blades shouldn't close; They act like a wedge to hold the hook in place in the clip and they need clearance so you don't cut through the metal clip. They're cheap, but they don't have sharp edges on the handle that you could cut yourself on. The rubberized grips are comfortable and the grips are nicely spring-loaded, giving you confidence and precision when it comes to precise control. My only concern is that with spring-loaded handles and no lock, they'll always stay open if they're loose in your toolbox and snagging on things. Plus, they're cheap and fun and get the job done.
