Big enough but very poor latch design and smaller gate lock

Door lock for small pets in the gate does not work. There are two parts that connect through a door to a lock. The shank of one part is too short to go through the hole far enough to make contact with another part. I had to glue mine. I thought it was a defective part and paid ten dollars to have a new one sent to me and it turned out to be the same - poor design. to install the part. Strange! I don't like that the tie bolts have to be screwed or glued and not just rubberized like on my old gates. The lock is difficult to open. Requires 2 hands if you are not strong. It is necessary to delay the small button at the same time as raising the handle.
