Door lock for small pets in the gate does not work. There are two parts that connect through a door to a lock. The shank of one part is too short to go through the hole far enough to make contact with another part. I had to glue mine. Having installed half a dozen other gates in my home over the last 10 years - some for pets, some for a toddler - I can definitely say this is my favorite. i'm a big guy I don't like squeezing through narrow gates. Damn. I want a simple door that fits between two walls. The instructions and amount of detail were ridiculous to get to this point. It doesn't work like any other baby gate I've ever bought. It was frustrating, and the instructions were oddly worded at times and definitely not in a standard format. I have just purchased and installed a Petgate ultra tall walk through gate. Items have been securely packaged to prevent damage in transit. It looks beautiful and installation was easy. I had a hard time removing the bottom end caps to insert the extension connectors. They were hanging from a vertical rail by a weld and I had to pry them open so hard the edges of the end caps are now a bit chewed up.
