Review on North States MyPet Petgate Passage by Theresa Brown

I have just purchased and installed a Petgate ultra tall walk through gate. Items have been securely packaged to prevent damage in transit. It looks beautiful and installation was easy. I had a hard time removing the bottom end caps to insert the extension connectors. They were hanging from a vertical rail by a weld and I had to pry them open so hard the edges of the end caps are now a bit chewed up. Also, the extension connectors do not sit flush with the horizontal bottom rail at the same contact point. It's so tight with the gate stopper that it only fits about halfway into the lower shaft on the door frame. It works and is too tight to pull out without pliers so I'm not worried about it falling out. We bought this gate for two cats and a five month old Newfoundland puppy. We wanted the cats to separate from the dog when they needed a break and also used the bedroom entrance as a large cage area for when she needed to get under her feet without putting them in a cage. The pet door in the gate is big enough for cats. It's also big enough for our giant pup. This gate was her first encounter with a pet door, and she was very proud of herself as she immediately crawled through to the other side. ;) We'll have to wait a few months for this gate to be the walkthrough we were looking for, but when the pup is older it should be perfect. I would recommend using a gate stopper on the underside of this very tall gate which side you have a large pet that might try to poke through the gate. Because the gate is so high, a strong pet could squeeze through from underneath, or at least rotate the gate enough to damage it if they try hard enough. My pup tried to get through the closed gate and squeezed the bottom corner a few inches. I didn't let them check the theory further and the gate is fine. Because the parts are not lined up as intended, although I believe the function of my gate is unaffected, I can only give this gate four stars. Overall I think it was a good purchase and I recommend it.
