The hole is small for my finch

I have a zebra finch and although it is slightly larger than a zebra finch, it refuses this nest. As far as I can tell, the entrance is much too small, and there are also a few small things. So I'll probably try cutting and untangling the socket and then buy another product.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • There are more interesting possibilities.

Cute little nest on Cages & Accessories

It was a nice addition to my finch cage. Unfortunately, they wanted nothing to do with it. We tried opening it a bit but it ended up falling apart. (Used scissors to wish for a hole.) ((It fell apart because I didn't cut it in half by itself.)) It was a good nest, but it didn't work for me, doesn't mean it will for you not work.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Something different

This is terrible quality

The holes are too small so the birds can't even get in. I have three groups of finches and I used one of the nests (the only one that could be used because of the small holes) and both birds died within a week. This could be a coincidence, but since I've had birds for several months and none of my other birds have gotten sick, I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll never buy it again.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not sure

Construction problem

The material is good. The size is perfect for finches but not larger. Unfortunately, mine arrived a little warped and quite tangled at the top. I don't know if it was due to poor construction or if it didn't make it through shipping. It was sent loose in a Revain box. However, I find it useless. I can install it in my cage to see what my finches think of it. I can try to sew it together. Bottom line, depending on its condition, buying this nest could mean rolling the dice. It's cheap, so it'sโ€ฆ

Finches love it - cages and accessories

I was lucky enough to rescue two zebra finches from our local shelter who were born with a heavy leg/foot deformity. As I watched our little one try to cover his whole cage with hay (he messed it up quite a bit!), I went and bought him this little nest. He immediately jumped in and still hasn't left it. It might be the best investment I've made in a long time :) The fibers in it are much smoother than in the picture, but as long as it's happy I'm happy. It also has two metal brackets on theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine

finches love it! for birds

I have a pair of zebra finches that just laid their first clutch of 6 eggs in this nest. It's cozy and they seem to feel safe inside. All the chicks have hatched, and although the nest is a bit crowded (and getting worse as they grow), the parents seem happy with the nest. I plan on buying more of these as I always replace the nest after about 6 months of use (they tend to sit on it and defecate on it and it's impossible to clean). Highly recommended for very small birds like finches. Iโ€ฆ

My finch thought it was an owl!

This is a good birdhouse but not the best. The viewing hole on the back is too small to see the chicks developing. I put the bright side of this review in a cage with a singing finch to give him a place to sleep. He froze, stayed on the other side of the cage and didn't move! All we could figure out was that he must have thought it was an owl or some kind of predator. LOL, as soon as we got him out of the cage he tweeted for five minutes, hopping around the cage and was happy again. Thisโ€ฆ

Really not the best nest

Suffers from the same problems as other pre-made bird nests. That. While it wasn't their favorite perch or nest, they certainly didn't avoid it. Besides, I didn't really care. The fabric and fibers used are too coarse and end up in frayed, raised edges. Maybe that's why the birds chewed and tore it up, which they haven't done in any other nest I've bought. The included wire brackets are still cumbersome to place the nest securely and require not only hooking to the cage bars but also manualโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Perfect Finch Condo

Our finches love these nests. We put in small cotton balls, dryer lint and/or shredded paper (not newspaper). They have a lot of fun building and stuffing their nests, sometimes all you see is a little red beak or two. Males do indeed build nests and do not need assistance to build nests properly. The females need a little help, so we throw in some cotton balls and fluff, and then they're perfectly happy. Our males and females are in separate cages. When it comes time to let them breed and weโ€ฆ
