This is pretty much a standard item for those who need to solder with regular AC power. I used it to solder wires for a new car radio and speakers. Instead of pulling an extension cord from home or bringing things in, I used a car starter with a 12v input and this thing didn't disappoint. Just enough power to get the job done and with good solder and some flux I had the cleanest solder joints.
