I bought this light for my wife to use on her makeup as our house has terrible lighting. The focus wasn't on taking videos or photos, although it's nice to have that option too. The first thing you need to know is that it's USB powered, so you'll probably want to dig up one of the hundreds of USB chargers you have. around to turn on the light. The second thing you need to know is that you need to twist the tripod tight enough to lock it when you set it up, otherwise it will collapse. Once you get that, the tripod is pretty solid and tall. The light itself is amazingly bright! There are multiple settings for brightness and color warmth, and the switch on the power cord works flawlessly. It seems great for makeup, to the point that my daughter uses it every time she gets home from school. I'm at a disadvantage as I don't wear makeup but the women in the house seem to enjoy it. A few other things that although we don't use, we tried anyway. The phone holder works decently but the adjustment lever is VERY stiff and I had a hard time adjusting it the way I wanted but eventually it started to loosen. The remote control was a real surprise. I assumed an app would be required, but found that all it needed to do was turn on Bluetooth and pair. After that, pressing the button in the default Samsung camera app will take a photo in camera mode and start/stop a video in video mode. The remote even came with a spare battery, which is unheard of. If you're looking for a simple and inexpensive ring light, I highly recommend it. So far it's been really great and the features have been top notch.
