2004 YAMAHA RAPTOR 80 QUAD CARBURETOR Exact replacement for the stock carburetor

Exact replacement for the stock 2004 Yamaha Raptor 80 carburetor. The only difference I see is that the idle adjustment screw is a slotted screw instead of a Phillips screw and the copper colored fuel inlet tube is a little shorter than stock but not by much. Comes with a set of small brushes and a poor quality fuel filter. The 8 year old gasoline that was in the Raptor 80 turned into a stinky goo that diluted the green paint and clogged the jets and passageways so badly, even after stripping and gluing. The carb cleaner blowing it up just won't let go of the throttle. Remove the gas tank and properly dispose of the old fuel slime inside. Spray the tank with plenty of water to remove any contaminants. Allow to dry completely and prepare one gallon of VP 94 Octane Small Engine Ethanol Free Gasoline. I couldn't find a video showing how to disconnect the throttle cable. First, close the fuel tap. Disconnect the fuel cock from the carburetor fuel hose at the carburetor. Then remove the two 10mm screws from the back of the intake manifold above the engine cylinder and loosen the air pipe inlet ring at the front of the carburetor using a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the rubber inlet from the carburetor. Now you need to pull the carburetor down to get to the top and remove the three screws holding the top plate with the throttle cable running through it. Loosen the jam nut on the underside of the throttle cable on the bent metal carburetor body and rotate the carburetor while holding the large cable nut to disconnect the carburetor. The entire needle valve assembly and bushing slides out of the top of the carburetor and throttle body. the cable must come out of a small notch in the base. Compress the spring and pull the cable end out of its socket and out of the groove. Then reverse the process to install this replacement carburetor. At the base of the needle valve opposite the wire seat is a notch that must be aligned with the slot in the carburetor. So carefully align it so that it is fully inserted and replace the top plate with three screws. Rotate the carburetor to place the upper throttle cable nut onto the bent carburetor cable guide tube and use the locknut to secure the assembly. Be sure to keep the o-rings on the carburetor and intake manifold in place and don't forget the oval plastic spacer in between. ! Tighten the 10mm screws, but don't tear them off! Reconnect the air intake hose, tighten the clamp ring with a Phillips screwdriver. Secure the fuel line with a small clamp and tighten. Reconnect the spark plug wire to the top of the spark plug. Turn the fuel valve to the on or standby position. Pour some fuel into the fuel tank and check for leaks. Accelerate several times and press the starter button. My Raptor 80 fired on 3 attempts as soon as the fuel got into the carb. When fully warmed up, it would rev up a bit at idle, so a small adjustment was needed to calm it down. Works great and the kids love the old Raptor 80!
