Inexpensive, easy to repair

$3 more than a repair kit. Bought for a Yamaha Grizzly 80. Disconnecting the throttle cable took longer than anything else. Plugged it in and it worked within 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Damaged

A good little carb if you know how.

I am giving four stars because it works as I expected. I didn't want to pay $200 for a new factory carburetor. These are my daughters on a four-wheeler. Get ready to tweak that carb a bit. Remember that you are buying a cheap carburetor. Repair is not possible as many factory parts do not fit.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Useless features

It's cheap junk good for bikes and powersports

Bought for my daughters Yamaha Raptor 80's This carburetor is junk it won't adjust and runs out of nowhere at high idle gas pours out of the Bowl and adjustments are useless. I'm a mechanic and knew better than to buy this, but I took a risk. You get what you pay for and what you get is junk.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I don't remember

This carburetor was just as bad as the first

I ordered one of these and it leaked when fitted. The seller sent me a new one and he did the same. I had to disassemble and readjust the float level. after a few tries it stopped dripping. It is very difficult to start and does not work for long. The service was good but the carburetor is very disappointing.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Works well with parts

I've read a lot of reviews about it and a lot of them weren't great. However, I took the risk for $30, how could you go wrong. Mine starts now and purrs like new. I also put a filter in as these carbs have small holes in the jets and I didn't want to risk bad gas. All I had to do was squirt starting fluid in the spark plug to get this thing to fire. And now I'm so happy.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Needs adjustment

I read all the reviews and found many people commenting that the carburettor needs to be adjusted. Knowing this in advance was very helpful as I was able to adjust the float prior to installation, but not much has changed. Installed carburetor and started straight away. I had to adjust the idle as it ran too fast, but after that it worked really well with no issues. Good price.

Pros
  • Pretty package
Cons
  • Boring package

Not good! this one has a loose fuel connector

Pulled out of the box and the fuel connector is loose in the carburetor. This is the second recently purchased from this supplier that had problems straight away. I buy carburetors every year but this year they are not of high quality and now I will look for other sellers as 2 in a row does not suit me. Do not buy from this seller again unless you want to watch your money burn!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Vulgarity

1993 Yamaha Badger YFM80 Is push Purrs like a kitten

This carburetor was fitted to a 1993 Yamaha Badger YFM80. I did NOT have to touch this carb one iota. I didn't even have to turn the idle screw. Screw it in, start it, literally push the start button for half a second, it started right away, idled PERFECTLY, fired up like a brand new quad, I'm a kid. The quality is EXACTLY the same as the M brand, which costs anywhere from $2 to $300, if not better in every way. From screws to nozzles to alloy types. Why even bother with a recovery kit? And you

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High price

Exact replacement for the stock 2004 Yamaha Raptor 80 carburetor. The only difference I see is that the idle adjustment screw is a slotted screw instead of a Phillips screw and the copper colored fuel inlet tube is a little shorter than stock but not by much. Comes with a set of small brushes and a poor quality fuel filter. The 8 year old gasoline that was in the Raptor 80 turned into a stinky goo that diluted the green paint and clogged the jets and passageways so badly, even after stripping…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
