We bought this because our English Mastiff has stopped barking. He barked at anything that moved or could hear, but not necessarily see. Initially, the percussion section was ineffective, but due to the many layers of skin around his neck, we didn't pull it tight enough or let it through the layers. Once we figured it out and placed it correctly, everything worked. The dog has learned in the past few weeks what happens when it barks. The first button we press is for the beep and it responds well to it. If he doesn't respond, we press the vibrate button and that usually stops him too. When he goes into a "frenzy" of barking, we use a shock and he stops barking. Now it comes down to a lot of the things he used to bark at, he doesn't bark at all so it works and we're glad we made the purchase. Worth every penny!
