In less than a year of using my Gorilla nuts, a thick layer of rust has built up on the inside of the threads. I used to use shorter eye studs and the new threads have since rusted completely. Long hairpins, dammit. With normal stress in the car, in the form of rain, car washes, etc., I can no longer wear anything but the fresh thread that was previously completely oxidized. will negate any animosity toward my rusty nuts, but after speaking to a Gorilla Automotive consultant, that's not the case. Instead, he advised tapping into or finding a machine shop to do so. YES, hand tighten 20 individual nuts. Or shell out my nuts to someone else. If you're familiar with finding threads, this process takes several days. I dare say I spent up to 20 minutes tapping one at a time, a quarter turn, back, repeat, smear, repeat. If I'm in the return period, they would be in the mail within seconds. Instead, I wasted my time fixing a problem that shouldn't have happened. This will be the last Gorilla Automotive product for any car I have ever owned and I will advise my colleagues to do the same.
