If you're looking for a great external hard drive, look no further. I bought this disc based on the excellent reviews and the lackluster reviews of related products. What every user should do when buying an external hard drive is expect some noise. It's not an external SSD. So expect some noise. With headphones on, I don't notice any noise at all on this drive as it performs its first backups. With the headphones off, it's almost invisible. I use this drive to back up all my data on three different computers: an old laptop, a school/work laptop and a new PC that I built. I can now access all my data from my newly built PC and have enough space for future data backups. I can't say anything about durability yet. Rest assured I will definitely update this review if it dies within a year of purchase. Note: I've seen things that may have a white label or a red WD drive. I'd rather not throw this out of the case, so if anyone knows of another way to say it, let me know!
