I use this in my rat cage and my kids love it. They sleep in it, usually together. I actually bought 3 of these. They don't chew on it at all, once nibbling through the rope that the bridge hangs from, but this was an easy fix. I just have to replace them because they are old and worn out. The rats actually use the bridge, I usually attach it to the top shelf or just to the side of the cage which is trained to support their weight. Access openings are always very large, even my big ones have enough space to get in and out. Makes great photoshoots :) Usually they last at least 6 months. I clean them when I clean the cage with soap and water and they dry quickly and don't retain any odors.
