Review on πŸ”₯ Hardwired Kidde Heat Detector with Battery Backup and 2 LED Indicators by Timothy Jimenez

Easy to install, watch out for the battery

We are doing a major home renovation which will require connected smoke alarms - so far I've mostly had battery powered sensors with just one wired device (from a previous project.) I knew that I really needed some kind of sensor in the garage and boiler room but smoke detectors would be prone to false alarms so I bought two of these heat detectors. boiler room and hooked it up to several other Kidde smoke and smoke/carbon monoxide alarms that I bought at the same time. This is a simple device - the temperature sensor is in a small bar, which you can see in the picture. It comes with a 9 volt battery but unlike all the other Kidde detectors I own you have to take the detector apart to swap it out. Note that when you purchase the HD135F, the battery is placed back in the bay so the connectors don't make contact. You have to turn it (and squint to read the tiny embossed legend that tells you which terminal is positive.) If you don't, it will remind you - just like all other wired devices! Please note that wire nuts are not included.
