Several people have tested the leather finish and Fiebing Acrylic Resolen has shown the best results. I used it on my faux leather office chair because the faux leather/plastic has come loose over a large area of the backrest; I painted it with Fiebing's Oil Die (black) and added this Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene as a finish. The material I added it to was some kind of cloth material (not leather); It seems to have worked quite well. I used to have a large light gray area on my back; It is now black to blend in well with the rest of the stool. It still doesn't look great, but the light gray black goes better with the rest of the chair. If you know you're going to use Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene Finish over black, then buy Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene Finish in black too; or whatever color you finish; This will help get an even color.
