I used it to attach the exhaust system shell. It's quite difficult to use without this tool, which is sold separately, but I figured I could probably just do it by hand. Well it was pretty tough. I bought some cookie cutters from Homedepot but it was still a bit tricky to cut because I could only cut from the side. I suppose you need stronger knives for clean cuts. It's not the zip ties, it's just that they're a little tricky to use without the right gear. I only needed a few, I have about 90 that I can't use. A bit hard when sideways, be careful
