My dog responded better to this device than the e-collar I used. He tried to avoid putting the e-collar on, although I only used the shock function twice (to keep him from chasing the deer). I accidentally activated the shock function 3 more times. Doggy Don't's device immediately draws his attention and after only a few activations (in combination with a command) he only reliably responds to verbal commands. I always carry it with me in case of an emergency. This came in handy once when another dog ran out of his yard. Upon hearing Doggy Don't, this dog immediately changed course.
