Pretty good buy - short notice

Update 08/25/21: It no longer holds my phone in place when it's stuck to the windshield. I can't pick up the device to sit on the dash since I have a running screen, that was basically a waste of money. I tightened it on the side as best I could and every time I put the phone in the holder it immediately falls off. In the hand there was no longer a hold. It still keeps my phone where it charges but useless to use my hand. Pretty disappointed to be honest. I would have tried to get a replacement but Revain has hidden the 'Contact Seller' option. If I can't use it without my hand, I'll buy from another seller. --- After a few months of use, here's what I liked and disliked: Pros: + excellent adhesion to the windscreen + very adjustable + charges your phone + super handy Cons: - it doesn't always start, when you try to insert your phone. The motion detector sensor can be finicky. Sometimes you try to hang up the phone and it moves toward you before you're ready. You must then wait a minute before you can activate the reopen sensor. Sometimes it doesn't read your movement at all and you have to fully shade it, open it, and then pan to activate it. It can be very unstable. My phone fell out once or twice. Something will happen if the knobs that adjust the firmness of the corners somehow loosen, catapulting your phone down. It's both the grip that defines your angle and the grip that lengthens it further. A couple of times my phone accidentally went too far and I didn't adjust the button. You need to check it from time to time to make sure it's still tight. Even tightening the grips doesn't prevent them from mysteriously accidentally loosening while riding. After a few days of travel I came to the conclusion that the best thing to do was loosen the connection and then tighten it again. Do not stretch it further than necessary, especially on bumpy roads. A solid pothole will cause your phone to fall and eventually fly out. lol, using a battery draining app for a long time along with this charger isn't going to help you. You either don't need to use the app or keep the screen off during your commute. This charger can't keep your phone's battery charged when you're using something like Waze. Keep a standard USB cable handy as a backup. Commendable: β€’ It can heat up quite quickly. On those sunny and warm days, the phone won't charge. If your phone is warm, this will not charge it. It will say "Shop" on it, but it really isn't. Your phone needs to cool down before this will work. I have found that in the car I have to use a two port plug - one for this charger and one with an extra USB cable. When the charger or my phone is warm or it's a very sunny day outside, it's better to use a USB cable and put my phone in a cooler/shady place.
