Wood flavored food

I wish someone had left a review like this before I bought this plate so here it is: I'm a steak fan so I wanted a nice wooden plate/board to enjoy my steaks. This plate looks beautiful but has a very strange glaze or coating. Not sure what it is. I washed it thoroughly TWICE before using it and just tried it for the first time with a great ribeye. It tasted like wood. Actually. I didn't like the steak because the weird stain on that plate/board had seeped into the meat and it tasted like I was eating the board myself. lame. Not worth the price. All in all I'm sure you can find better ones. Disappointed to say the least.
