Review on 🌊 Aqueon Aquatic Water Changer for Aquariums by Shelly Cook

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The hottest flame burns the fastest.

This is both the best thing that has happened to my aquarium and the worst. The idea behind this product is amazing and it even works amazingly. in a short time. A few things to note about this product: - The quality of the plastic is very cheap and the plastic parts break very easily! typically 80psi). They are rated at 25-30 psi. The gravel tube you get is (IMO) too short unless you want to clean your aquarium in full snorkeling gear! (I slightly changed the pipe to an 18" pipe for my 55 gallons.) - While the faucet adapters they give you give you some flexibility in connection, in many cases you still need some kind of adapter. Also, the included adapters are made out of the aforementioned cheap plastic, so the threads tend to be chewed up and spat out of the faucet's metal threads when putting them on and off. The more careful you are with it, the longer it will last. When filling the tank, do not use the valve on the gravel vacuum. Using this valve when filling the tank puts the entire system under the full pressure of your water system (typically 80+ psi). This is BAD as this system (in my experience and research) is only rated for around 20-30psi. before you stand and watch the magnificent water show destroy your bathroom (or wherever)! Another thing to note is that you should be VERY CAREFUL with the plastic faucet adapter when connecting the pump to the sink. Don't force it, take your time and it will take a lot longer. Once you've hooked it up to the sink, be careful not to pull the hose too tight... this will drag the pump along and it will break in half... and... the water will show... you get the idea i guess. The main thing is to handle it as carefully as possible, then it will last longer. Now that we have covered the weaknesses of this product, I would like to point out that this product is the best product. of its kind that I could find in retail stores. This product is a huge time saver and eliminates all the mess that comes with gravel cleaning and weekly water changes! I just wish it was made with better quality parts that didn't break almost immediately. In the time I have this kit I have had to replace the "pump" 4 times and every time I get a new one it seems even cheaper than the previous one and breaks even faster. After investing over $40 in these new replacement pumps I decided to build my own "bulletproof" version, I hooked up my version of the pump to the hose and gravel siphon from the kit and my goodness what a HUGE improvement! Not only does my homemade pump not fall apart in my hands, it sucks better and there is less mess in the sink. I hope this review helps you decide. Good luck and have fun!
