Amazing watch! for GPS, viewfinder and accessories

This is the second Garmin Fenix 5X that I own. The first was loaned to me by my company for work purposes and then had to return it after a few months of use. I can't imagine not having something like this. I looked at several different watches but couldn't find any with the fitness and mapping features this model has, so I bought a certified refurbished Fenix 5X to keep the costs a bit low. In my opinion, there are no other watches for fitness. it might touch on what Garmin has in their Fenix series. I have apps and widgets for everything I usually do at the gym, on the treadmill, on the trails, biking and more. I like being able to keep a constant eye on my heart rate, sleep, steps, and calories. What is particularly helpful is that I can link the Garmin Connect app with other fitness and diet apps on my phone to get a complete picture of how my fitness looks throughout the day. The best of smartwatches. I'm still trying to explore all of its features. I can say that I navigated with my watch, geocached with my watch and was able to report my position in relation to another point with my watch. I can't wait to continue exploring what else I can do with cards! It would be nice if there were more detailed instructions somewhere on the site that would help you understand how to use certain features a little faster than just playing with them. The battery life on this thing is phenomenal! My wife has an Apple Watch and my daughter has a Fossil smartwatch. They both end up charging their watches every day or two at most. If I'm not using the map functions, I can drain the battery for almost two weeks before needing to recharge it. If I use the map functions or the fitness functions for more than the usual hour per day, the battery life decreases significantly, but even then I can get by for about a week on a single charge. The smart features of the watch are really just a weakness. Usually when I change the watch face or restart the phone, the phone disconnects. To reconnect, I found that I had to disable and re-enable notifications on the watch and the Garmin Connect app before the watch would show notifications again. It would also be nice to have a touchscreen to reduce button presses, but I can live without it as long as I have battery life.
