What drew my attention to this pencil sharpener is that it can be used with AC adapter OR USB connection OR batteries (4 AA)! Where we would ideally have installed it, it didn't have access to an outlet, so we used a USB plug to plug it into a laptop charger. The sharpener sits right next to the laptop and doesn't take up much space on an already tiny desk. The sharpener is not very loud, which is always a plus. If space is tight it's a good idea to have 3 different power options. Another useful feature is the 3-stage pen tip adjustment. You can adjust the sharpness of the pencil with the push of a button: Dull, Medium and Sharp. Sharpening is easy: just insert the pin into the hole from above and it starts automatically. Take out the pen when you're done and it will turn off automatically. There is a safety feature stating that the sharpener will not turn on if the razor cover is not attached. This is ideal as this is where the kids use it the most. When the case is full, simply detach from the front, unload and attach again. Definitely recommend this pencil sharpener!
