Like you, I hate 'Check Engine' lights β and with the computers that control more and more modern cars, something always goes wrong. This OBD ancel scan tool is just what you need to find out what's going on *before* you head to a mechanic. It comes in a stylish hard case complete with a USB cable to connect to a computer (for updates etc) and another cable with OBD2-16 and CITROEN-16C adapters - should work with almost any fairly modern vehicle. Plug it in under the dash (my OBD2 connector is next to the hood release lever, under the dash on the left hand side, clearly visible), power it on and you should be able to read the fault codes. With a little help from Google, you can often diagnose what's wrong, or at least get a good overview. If the garage tells you otherwise, at least you're informed enough to talk about it. If you do a little more DIY, you can often fix the problem yourself and avoid the dealer/mechanic altogether. The build quality seems top notch and a couple of times I've used it it has worked flawlessly. However, it's one of those items that's better to have than not have, so I'm hoping this is the last time I have to pull it out!
