Review on RocRide Single Chainring Aluminum Steel by Adam Price

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Head engages with multiple aluminum screws

Bought as a spare. When I used the bolts I used a torque wrench to the correct 12Nm which is stated on the bolts. I alternately tightened the bolts to avoid overstressing a bolt. And I tightened a quarter turn at a time. One of the bolts I used broke at 3Nm and one broke at 9Nm, every time the head came loose, this was well before the required 12Nm marked on the aluminum bolt I was able to screw the 3rd bolt to myself get going. I was lucky enough to purchase this set as a backup when installing my new 1x Star and only needed 1 set. After that I went back and bought steel, not aluminum. I wouldn't recommend aluminum.
