Review on Top-Quality Bronson Speed Co. G3 Bearings: Boost Performance with a Set of 8 by Ryan Hoover

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fast but carefree as hell.

I bought these for my new longboard because I thought they were faster and better than "other" brands in this price range. Also, they seem to have some peculiarities. Well the conclusion is that they are fast and with very little friction. I take my board to go up the stairs or whatever and the wheels are still spinning when I get to the top. However, the downside is that they are LOUD. Fresh out of the box they made that wet "scratching" sound, like rubber seals rubbing against something in the bearing I think. Despite my efforts to fix this issue, the problem persists with some bearings in the kit. Reinstalling seals and general cleaning helps, but is damn annoying. Also, and more importantly, these camps are bloody dirty! Just by holding them in my hands fresh out of the box I can wiggle the bearing inner race a lot, way more than I should. When fully assembled and with the spacers and speed rings properly pulled out, the play causes the entire wheel to wobble and feel loose when it really isn't at all. They rattle like the bearings are dry and rusty. even if they are mostly new. Due to the tilt, I'm also fed up with the stability of these bearings under torsional loading when threading and running/sliding. I don't think I would trust them with my life, and even in a million years I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who would want to do something like that. d will probably be fine with these camps. They're honestly fast. But I suspect the reason they don't have an ABEC rating is that they probably don't even get ABEC 5. My regular ABEC 5 bearings run much smoother and quieter than these, although not as fast. Maybe sloppy = fast in Bronson's eyes, but good luck if you see it in their ads. The bottom line is, if you're looking for a "fast" but ALSO "smooth and quiet" bearing set, these are definitely not the ones for you. I would prefer my board to be as quiet as possible because I'm a student and these bearings are way too loud and sloppy. Next time I'll switch to Zealous. Fingers crossed they're half the price!
