Purchased to replace problematic Hayes So1e Hydraulic Brakes. Once installed and adjusted, they worked just as well, a little better, and didn't have to worry about brake fluid problems. The package arrived without instructions. Luckily I have mechanical aptitude and was able to figure out the setup and adjustments. My bike is an old Gary Fisher Tassajara. I had to use spacers to attach the brake pads to the frame. Otherwise, the discs will rub against the brackets that hold the pads. The brake levers are pretty basic and don't seem like they're going to last very long. I pulled them apart to add some lubrication. After the addition, the levers are significantly better. Also, some Loctite has been added to ensure they don't get lost or fall apart on the trail. These two modifications have given me more confidence that these inexpensive levers can last for several years. The cable housings are the most fragile I have ever seen. They are made of soft rubber and are very flexible. Good but not the quality I've found in SRAM cable sets. Again, as with the levers, I expect them to be weekend rides for a couple of years.
