We are ordering two blinds side by side as shown in the photo to cover the double sliding glass patio doors. Both shades were damaged in shipping when they arrived. Gray Wind asked for photos of the damaged one and quickly replaced both shades. New shades have arrived in perfect condition. The colors look FANTASTIC. Everyone who sees them thinks it's so cool to have sunglasses like this. They block 70% to 80% of the direct afternoon sun, which is exactly what we were looking for. Installing blinds is no more difficult than installing window blinds. If you know how to install curtains, it will be very easy. If you've never done this before, you might be better off hiring a handyman. Now for the not-so-perfect part. The two engines were not set to the same speed. It wouldn't matter if they were in different windows. Luckily there is a way to adjust the speed of the motors and with a little fiddling I was able to get the two motors in sync. I bought a Geeklink base unit. This is a third-party home automation device that can control many devices in the home. It only works for me with Greywind shadows. I eventually got it working for the most part, but Geeklink is the weakest link in the product line. Programming takes a significant amount of effort and is probably impossible for a computer novice or your everyday handyman. This works with Alexa, but again, it takes a lot of effort to get them to work together. In fact, due to the difficulties I had, Graywind only refunded the money I spent on the Geeklink device. THIS IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I also bought solar panels for each shade engine. The jury is still out on this matter as they are designed to constantly charge the engines. The battery holds a charge for a long time so the curtains didn't run long enough to know if they were working. As I said, so far so good. Overall I would recommend Graywind products and I would say that I am VERY VERY happy with their customer service. Remember that shutters, motors, solar panels and a smart home system are not easy to install and unless you are very computer savvy you will need to hire someone else to install them.
