This is not a secondary filter, it is a factory Aprilaire Model 501
Model 5000 Air Filter did the job. The electronic part of the filter worked fantastic charged dust particles stuck to the metal mesh. I had to take a brush and brush away electrically charged dust from the screen's metal frame. I bought a Merv 16 filter because of a virus, next time I will go back to the Merv 12 filter and see if there is a noticeable difference. The Aprilaire filter box has detailed step-by-step instructions printed on the filter boxes. If you understand what you're reading and look at the charts, changing the filter shouldn't be a problem.
