Makes my thick wavy hair look flat and lifeless

I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for a few months now. I just stopped using it because I found it makes my thick, curly/wavy hair flat and lifeless. I tried just using the shampoo and not the conditioner, thinking the conditioner was too heavy, but it didn't help. When I switched to a different shampoo and conditioner, my hair was shiny and frizzy again.
