The tray is so thin that if you press the compartments with force, the plastic will rebound, scattering the beads everywhere. It would be much better with a lidded compartment, so once you have separated the colors you can close the case and they will stay separate. After 3 hours after I sorted all the colors my daughter went to pull out the tray and they all fell out and mixed together.
