Requires 30 crimps of 6 AWG and 8 AWG wire. I used to use an online ordering service (and was happy) but had to have a custom length when I went. I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars for a good hydraulic swaging tool (or even $100s for a lousy one) so I decided to give this a try. VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. Use in a vise like other reviews have suggested, use the large bar on the vise handle to apply a good even pressure and you'll get a very strong crimp. Use good ferrules, apply dielectric grease before crimping, finish with heat shrink tubing and you've got a nice pseudo-professional job. However, as mentioned above, note that this is difficult or impossible to do "on the spot". You must be able to transfer the cable to the desktop.
