I ordered a 3/4" bit for steel. The pilot drill broke at the first hole, I ordered the same drill and the drill broke at the first hole too. So I I have seen this pilot bit and it worked on two holes in steel without breaking. I was drilling holes in a Bilco basement door to install a lock. This pilot bit worked with a hole saw that was ordered.
