Review on Cangshan TS 1020885 Swedish Sandvik 14C28N Steel 17-Piece Knife Block Set with Walnut Handle by Diane Haney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm so happy I chose Cangshan

I consider myself a good cook. So I figured I had some pretty decent and sharp knives. I sharpen them before each use and sharpen them often. Like I said, I thought my knives were sharp. I then used my two new Cangshan TS series knives, a tomato knife and a paring knife, to slice the tomatoes and cucumbers. These knives are instantly so sharp I almost cut myself several times. A paring knife cuts like air through a greenhouse cucumber. Absolutely effortless. The tomato showed almost the same. It sliced through the tomatoes quicker than expected and my thumb didn't move back. I didn't cut myself, but I hit my finger twice. Based on other reviews I was expecting the knives to be sharp but not razor sharp. All knives arrived in perfect condition. They were individually wrapped in plastic with a protective cap. Then everything was packed in a box. The device was sealed and in its own box. Everything was packed very well. The block is very nice and looks very high quality. He's a lot heavier than I thought. He is very stable. Since I had never heard of Cangshan before looking for a new set of knives, I was a little hesitant to buy this set. Originally I wanted to buy a set from one of the well-known German knife manufacturers. I'm so glad I chose Cangshan. I would certainly be happy about a German knife set. For a 17-piece set I would have had to compromise on the steel quality or pay a lot more. Or I would settle for stamped rather than forged knives. Of course I chose Cangshan and didn't have to stop. I have only used 2 knives so far but am very happy with my purchase. I will update as I use more knives.
