Great knife set!

I bought this set of knives about a month ago to replace a set we have been using for about 15 years. The quality and craftsmanship of the knives are excellent, and the deck is an extremely educational base. I had a small issue with my order and contacted Cangshan directly to see if they could help rather than trying to return the entire set. It was absolutely the right decision as their customer support team went above and beyond to fix everything. I am very happy with this set and the way the

Steak knife NOT serrated

First the answer to the most important question, because on this page and even on the manufacturer's page there are contradictory statements. As of October 2020, Cangshan TS series knife block steak knives have NO serrated PURPOSE. I would have loved this set anyway but was glad to know they weren't serrated as serrated steak knives are usually a sign of a poor quality knife that shouldn't hold a sharp edge. On the other hand, they are very sharp, very well balanced and very well made. The…

Excellent knives. in Cutlery and Knife Accessories

Bought to replace the knives I had before my wife. She is particularly picky about cutlery, as is my mother-in-law. I often work with knives made of all blade steels and have decided to do this for a number of reasons. Steel has an edge, but correcting it is not difficult. In addition, steak knives had to be serrated. Four months later, the knives are still sharp. I only cut off one edge. My version of a close shave. There were a few minor manufacturing defects such as scratches on almost every

I'm so happy I chose Cangshan

I consider myself a good cook. So I figured I had some pretty decent and sharp knives. I sharpen them before each use and sharpen them often. Like I said, I thought my knives were sharp. I then used my two new Cangshan TS series knives, a tomato knife and a paring knife, to slice the tomatoes and cucumbers. These knives are instantly so sharp I almost cut myself several times. A paring knife cuts like air through a greenhouse cucumber. Absolutely effortless. The tomato showed almost the same…

Is Shenzhen special or really special? That's the real deal.

So I scoured the market for new kitchen knives and found that for some reason Revain had thrown this unnamed Chinese brand in my face. There weren't many reviews, but the ones that were were good. Decided to see what could be damaged? Fully synthetic handles, Karo (trust me, the biggest mistake you can make is wooden handles in a kitchen knife, bad idea), Sandvik steel, much more than a Karo, this stuff goes into premium pocket knives for $200-$300 plus uses design, the price is quite high but…

These are amazing knives. Just unbelievable! I'm a professional chocolatier, so I know my way around the kitchen well. I bought these for home use and they are the best knives I have ever used. First, the steel is Swedish. All of the knives I've owned have been made from German steel, which I consider to be the best multi-purpose knife steel. And then I tried Swedish steel. It's a bit harder than German steel so it can hold a much sharper edge, but not as brittle as Japanese steel so you don't…

*This rating applies to packaging ONLY. Since this is a Christmas present, I can't confirm anything other than the packaging and presentation. Looking through the reviews I didn't come across any photos or written reviews that included these things so I hope this helps. Here you see from left to right: White box (This box was INSIDE the packaging box). Inner Box (This photo shows one of the sides of the inner box. It shows all the knives/tools inside and brief information about Cangshan)…

I'm pretty sure I got a fake

I really wanted to love these knives. I really did. They were beautifully packaged and looked amazing. They were very sharp right out of the box and I was very proud of my new set of kitchen knives. They were so sharp that I cut myself the first day I tried to cut tomatoes without a chopping board. But things weren't meant to stay that way. In the evening on a dry cloth towel. On the second day I noticed a small mark on one of the two knives we used but I thought it was a manufacturing defect…

  • Almost everything is fine

Really very disappointed.1) I expected it to keep sharpness for a very long time. They didn't hold the lead for as long as I thought they would. It held the blade maybe a little longer than my previous $50 kitchen knife set. 2) Also, you need to wash them by hand, which doesn't bother me at all, but these things need to be towel dried immediately, otherwise they will rust. and gets dirty very quickly. My wife let them dry in the dishwasher overnight and I started seeing stains on them. Not a…
