Although I am new to working with colored pencils I have bought some very expensive pens and am delighted. But I often catch myself using them precisely because they are so good and so expensive. So I got this little set at a very good price and I can bring myself to use it much more freely. Because pencils behave differently in both the amount of pigment applied and the way they blend, there are many techniques I can't practice with them. However, I use them occasionally and frequently, which is good for me in many ways. Definitely recommended for beginners.
