Chester, Pennsylvania is the home of John Layman and Rob Guillory's Image Comics title Chew. And now it can be known as the home of one of the MOST INTERESTING AND COOL e-commerce sites I've ever seen.
The site creator? None other than Mr. Layman himself! You might remember him as the writer of the book itself (he even makes an appearance in issue #32 way back when!). But this time around, he teams up with his family to create something really special .
Currently there are only three different products available: a T-shirt that features everybody's favorite cannibalistic FDA agent/detective Tony Chu drawn by Rob himself, a delicious Tony Chu plush toy drawn up by John - with two different variations (Tony in his white labcoat or out of it), AND a fantastic eight color Tony print drawn up by none other than Marco Rudy ! All three items are limited edition items which means once they're gone...THEY'RE GONE FOREVER! So if you see something you gotta have, don't wait too long to snap it up!
You can purchase the items in the shop by themselves or in bundles. The T-shirt costs even dollars while Tony goes for 3 bucks, Simon is 4 bucks, and 8 color prints are only 6. John's offering a full range of convenient payment options including PayPal, Amazon Payments, Google Checkout, etc. And if you're not into buying anything at all but still want to contribute to this great cause (and get some free stuff) simply sit back and enjoy watching Simon's Video Game Review site (with links to the official Chew video game review!) on his main page! Awesomeness abounds here!
This website is just the latest example of how Chester, PA has become a mecca for all things comics. The creators are not only creating new content but they're also helping other creatives to make their dreams come true by providing opportunities through this site! If you love Chew or want to support small businesses and creative endeavors, then head on over to chewtoycentral.
