I have owned many coffee makers over the years. I had Mr. Coffee, Bunn, Keurig and even cheap ones. When I saw this coffee maker with a dishwasher function I thought now this is a coffee pot for years to come. It seems like a great design that someone should have come up with years ago. The coffee maker arrived with a product box (with adequate packaging) in a large shipping carton. After opening, the coffee maker is tightly wrapped in a packaging film and then in a plastic bag. They have foam packaging in key areas to prevent breakage. Including replaceable water filter. According to the instructions, the filter should be changed monthly. The filter holder has a rotating dial that you can adjust to show the month it was replaced. I had similar filters (probably the same) in my Keurig that needed changing every 3 months. This kettle is a bit more compact than my previous Mr. Kaffee, but the design looks nicer. Includes reusable filter. It is not as quick and easy to clean as a disposable paper filter. Here's what the directions say about a reusable filter: Paper Filter: To make your cup of coffee smoother and less bitter, use a paper filter. This is most effective at trapping bitter deposits. Reusable Filters: For a stronger and fuller flavor, use a reusable filter. This allows the full aroma of the coffee to fill your cup. Reusable filters have tiny holes that allow the rich coffee oil to brew. The first time I used it, I poured a full pot of clean water through the coffee pot to get rid of any residue. Then I started to make delicious coffee. The water distribution head is larger than my previous Mr. Coffee and allows you to spray water all over the basket. There's no button to press for a richer, stronger drink. The instructions simply state to use heaping teaspoons of coffee (more coffee) for a stronger drink. For those of us who are busy in the mornings and don't have time to cook the pot in the morning, there is a 'Cook Later' button. Mister. Coffee has a pause function (like most modern kettles) that allows you to quickly drink your cup before the brewing process is complete. The heater is set to keep the pot warm for 4 hours. You can turn it off at any time by pressing the Brew Now button. This is a very beautiful and stylish coffee maker. The most attractive feature is the ability to wash in the dishwasher. This alone is definitely worth considering when looking for a new pot. One has to wonder what took so long to sell. I would recommend this Mr. Coffee and will definitely consider it if you find it on sale! Thanks very much! 😉👍Update 4/29/20: I had several water filters from a Keurig coffee maker I once had. I thought you were going to this Mr. Kaffee; wrong, they are too big. It turns out there are two main sizes of carbon water filters for coffee makers. Smaller size for Cuisinart makers and larger size for Keurig machines. Keurig filters are too big and won't fit. Cuisinart filters fit in the basket but are a bit loose. I can't remember how the original filter that came with the coffee maker fitted. I don't know if that's a problem or not, but they work. I ordered a dozen Cuisinart filters and plan to use them. I still really like this coffee maker.
