Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice fine-grained hard rock

This is a hard rock. It is NOT intended for removing large amounts of material, but for finishing (sharpening) an already sharp blade. No whetstone is easy to use; A slight tilt of the blade can negate several minutes of careful sharpening. But for its size. I use it to sharpen blades in the workshop and in the field; it fits in my pocket and is always there when I need it. For serious multi-blade work it's not the best choice, but for re-sharpening a blade that has become less sharp with use it's great not having to go back to the store to buy the big stones, that I use there.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Large and bulky
