Does not check pool salinity

I bought this specifically to test my saltwater pool. The Q&A the company answered states that you can use it to check the salinity in your pool as long as it's not over 5,000ppm. Own website says "no"! From the website: It's difficult to measure salt concentration with a TDS meter. TDS meters use the electrical conductivity of all ions to measure TDS. This makes it very difficult or impossible to measure salt. The meter measures water hardness, pH buffer alkalinity, water treatment chemicals and other substances including salt. Some pool owners test the TDS of the water they use to refill the pool. This is the base TDS. Then they test the pool. You can subtract the baseline from the pool's TDS to get an idea of the salinity minus most other substances in the pool. Add just enough salt to hit the medium to high end of the recommended salt range and you should be right in the salt zone. Why waste time and money
