The tip of the brush is hard enough to get a clean straight line, but with a little pressure you can get a thick line. The ink dries quickly, which can be a plus or a minus if the user intends to smudge the ink to create a shadow effect on the drawing. Based on my experience of using it regularly (not as a professional or amateur), it's good for drawing drawings. The only problem so far is that when using it you have to move the brush across the paper to get the ink to flow evenly. For example, if someone pauses while drawing a drawing, it's a good idea to gently squeeze the center of the brush's body to make it leak again, or put the cap back on and gently shake it in a downward motion. This is a product I would buy again or buy in different colors.
