I bought them for my 7 year old daughter who has sensitive skin.
She (like me) reacts badly to other types of earrings, even those labeled hypoallergenic or nickel free. They didn't cause any irritation, and the screw-down caseback fits her perfectly, so they don't press too much on the ears.
