Review on πŸ“š Notebook Pen Holder: An Ideal Solution for Thick Classic Notebooks by Shane Minter

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Frustrated with poor quality control

I was looking for a "cheaper" alternative to my favorite Moleskins notebooks, but was disappointed with how poorly constructed this notebook was. The quality of the paper is excellent, which corresponds to the 2 stars I gave it. The rest was poorly controlled. Even without opening the book I can easily see that some pages have not been bound properly - in this case it looks like it was bound upside down - see photos. The pages also seem to have been bound too tightly (as others have also pointed out) which affects writing on the pages as the pages don't really lay flat as they bunch towards the centre. Another star was deducted for a stack of pages that didn't have the binding thread stapled/glued properly, which was actually missing. So in the end 2 stars for the excellent quality of the paper and the leather book. A star on each page for misaligned pages, binding that is too tight, and binding that is loose. Another point worth noting is that the company has included a "box" encouraging you to contact them first rather than leaving negative feedback. In my opinion, as a consumer I have paid for the product, I decide when to leave a review about the product. If a company stands behind its product, it shouldn't tell a consumer who buys its product not to leave "negative" reviews. I will return the item and buy Moleskine notebooks until I find a cheaper alternative. At least in all Moleskine laptops I've bought I've never had any of the three issues I had with this laptop.
