Almost done, but USB-C is a failed standard.

I use this on my Pixel 3a (it's my 3rd phone in 4 months) because USB in my car keeps disconnecting after a while. Sharing can mean using your Android car phone's plug too often, and USB-C just isn't designed or manufactured well enough to last. I expected the cables to break, but instead it was phones. I thought this would be a good solution to my socket problem. So I put this thing on a bare phone and tried it out in my car, flash drive and charger. The part connecting to the phone was a little wavy after installation. There was a small gap between the phone and the magnet. Less than a millimeter. I had to alter my body to fit the width of the razor fork and that made it more secure. problem solved at this point. However, the part that connects to the cable is already loose where it connects to the cable. I managed to lose data transfer in the car because I hit the cable (not the connector) about 6 inches from the connector. Also, the charger (OEM cable) would momentarily lose its power transfer when the USB cable twitched. I could see people would suggest that the Magsafe system was the problem, but that connection grows stronger and more permanent over time; also easier to clean. However, USB-C is a failed experiment. I wish this product had at least two connectors for different cables. I want to keep one in my car and one at home so I can use hot glue to make the connection to the cable more stable. I took off one star because I expected two female ends for the price.

Pros
  • USB to USB adapter
Cons
  • High price
