I had a 17T on the new stock SE which gave it good top speed but overall it was too tight to pedal at revs. I like to pedal when the road has a slight incline, which was mostly the case. This replacement made it much easier to pedal and maintain a cruising speed of around 10 mph. If I want to go faster, I just pedal faster and don't have to exert myself to reach top speed. (Of course the top speed is significantly lower now) It doesn't have the "click" when coasting that my other gear had, so I can now sneak up on old folks without them hearing me and slam my goosehorn. Make them jump, hehe! For that alone it deserves 5 stars.
