I had a 17T on the new stock SE which gave it good top speed but overall it was too tight to pedal at revs. I like to pedal when the road has a slight incline, which was mostly the case. This replacement made it much easier to pedal and maintain a cruising speed of around 10 mph. If I want to go faster, I just pedal faster and don't have to exert myself to reach top speed. (Of course the top speed is significantly lower now) It doesn't have the "click" when coasting that my other gear had, so I

Good price Good freewheel

This is a very good freewheel for my singlespeed. I was broke and needed a bike, so I stole a 50t sprocket from another mountain bike and adapted it for use with some single speed cranks. To achieve the gear ratio I wanted, I got myself a 20-ton rear freewheel. It is very smooth to drive and does not click when coasting. Make sure it's for 1/8" chain and not 3/32". You MUST have a freewheel tool to remove this, so don't fiddle with random wheels if you don't have a tool. This is nothing for aโ€ฆ

saved my day! Fits Gear Components

Replaces the cheap 16t freewheel that came with the bike. Immediately after installing it, I had the best ride I've ever had. 20t is great for lifting with 48t at the front. The 18t fixed gear just isn't fun on long descents and would be too much for the climb today, and the cheap 16t just wasn't an option on the climb. The ratchet body is much larger in diameter than the previous ratchet, so I was afraid I would fail too quickly. Of course this is not the case as it depends on the size of theโ€ฆ
