I bought it for my mother. Her apartment has very old appliances, and this spring our dryer burned down. I'm a trained firefighter (Army 51M) and got the dryer out in time to avoid setting the entire apartment building on fire. The washing machine had finally broken weeks earlier, so it's not surprising that the dryer suddenly stopped working. I saw a similar gadget on the blog and decided to buy this one. The fire in the old dryer was way back and I thought this item could possibly fit in a lint trap and suck up anything that slips through. It was a bit fiddly to fit the part onto my vacuum hose, but after some maneuvering I was able to attach it. The nozzle is basically an open end that fits most vacuum hoses. The other end of the hose is inserted where the lint catcher is on the front of the dryer. I was able to suck out a fair amount of lint that had already built up in the new dryer. I've only used it once and I think I'll be removing the back panel regularly as well to make sure it stays clean. However, I think it would be a nice addition to your monthly cleaning routine.
