Review on 🔧 CTA Tools 2525 Square Drive Oil Filter Wrench - Standard: Get a Grip on Filters 87-95mm by Brandon Selpasoria

Excellent wrench for 87-95 mm (3-7/16 " to 3-3/4 ") diameter oil filters

Excellent wrench for oil filters. I had a smaller wrench and it worked great so I bought this one. I use it with a 3/8" ratchet and extension. Although this filter is only recommended for 87-95mm (3-7/16" to 3-3/4") diameter oil filters, it doesn't matter. What is the geometry on the top of the filter I personally prefer this design over other designs Another design uses a cap that covers the top of the oil filter with a square cut in the cap I have a few of these oil filter wrenches and they usually but They don't always work. One problem with the cap design is that not all oil filters are compatible, even for the same engine. I usually buy oil filters on sale because I don't use the same brand every time. In my case, with this CTA oil filter, if it works on one filter for my engine it will work on all of them personally I don't like this single lever design some of my cars that I have have the filter recessed and it's difficult to do this to do use the lever or impossible. To remove the oil filter with a wrench (for inexperienced DIYers): Connect a long (3/8") 3/8" ratchet extension. Insert the end of the extension into the square hole so that when you turn the ratchet counterclockwise (counterclockwise), the loop tightens. If not, turn the oil filter wrench around and attach it to the opposite side of the oil filter's square hole. Place the oil filter wrench on the oil filter and slide it towards the base. Turn the ratchet counterclockwise to remove the oil filter. You may need to clean the oil from the outside of the oil filter to get a good grip. Prepare the oil pan to hold the oil. TIP: Make sure the oil filter rubber gasket is removed from the old filter before installing the new one (unless you like the engine squirting oil when you first start it)! This happened to me once but not twice. Using a Wrench to Install the Filter (For Beginner Mechanics): Many mechanics recommend hand-tightening the oil filter only, not a wrench. The bottom line is to tighten the oil filter according to the instructions, but no more. Too loose - oil splatters, too tight - difficult to take off after months! I decided to buy the product before I needed it. For the filter sizes it is designed for, this is the best oil filter wrench available at any price point that I know of. This is a great deal for the price.
